Ive have a large uncompressed AVI file which I need to convert to a reasonable sized SVCD. However, when its uncompressed its viewable perfectly fine when using WMP of Power DVD, upon loading and selecting the SVCD (PAL) temlate .mcf file, TMPGEnc displays a B&W distorted image as follows (apologies for the pictures, its the easist way to explain..) -

If anyone can advise what may be causing this it would be great..

Hi thanks for responding. Ive tried numerous combinations based on what you told me, but Im afraid it makes no difference and I get the same effect. The settings for VFAPI are as follows - am I missing a plug-in, or is the order incorrect?

uncheck each of the first 3 readers listed one at a time ...

also you have 2 mpeg2 decoders listed -- uncheck the CRI one (different issue)

    Hi,

I have unticked each one and tested conversion after each was disabled, and I still have the same effect. If I remove all 3 Im unable to import AVI files, presumeably I need to leave at least one ticked.

this doesnt sound like "uncompressed AVI" then ---- which should be a huge file ..

I captured them on the fly from a TV source, using Svideo connection, with iuVCR selecting "uncompressed" mode. A 10 second file is over 350Meg in size.

  9. Click on "AuxSet.exe". A new window will pop up. Click on "install handler". You should now be able to frameserve.

Does that process take long - its just I have just tried this, nothing actually appears to happen, 0 frames are served, it creates a 1kb file which I cant load into TPMGEnc after a reboot.
