I'd use Maxell or TDK or Apple for -R
for +R ask someone else I don't own a dual format burner.

For + media, TDKs, Riteks, and Fujis are in good standing. Also, Memorex's + media has the same media code to the TDKs and I've had the same results with it. Verbatims are iffy. Stay absolutely away from Khypermedia, Maxell, Imation, etc.

I've never heard any complaints about Maxell. My own experience with them is excellent.
