  2. I have the 22 model with passthrough . The directions should be in the manual on how to do it. Mine were. You have to change to av/ digital out on the menu of the camera. I think it is originally set for dv in not analog in dv out

    Hi zoranb,

I don't have your CAM model, but I do have the TRV22 model.

It can be very confusing as to how to set up for pass-throu. I had similar
issues too w/ mine.. I coudn't figure it out.. till I tried weeks later

    Basically..
    * First, you set your CAM to VCR on your manual Switch,
    * Then, in the MENU, you look for a VCR SET menu list
    * Then, w/ a little luck, you look for somthing similar, like DV out or something
    * You have to find your MENU and search through it !!
    * On my, I activiated the MENU and went through the main meu,
    * Then I worked my way through the PAGE(s) and found mine on PAGE 3
    * Then, I was still confused cause there were tiny buttons that I didn't
    ...quite understant
    * Then, I started to press each one to see which was doing what.
    * I finally found that REC CTRL for what I needed to set, if I wanted to do
...any recording off my Satellite and onto miniDV tapes.
    .
    .
    * There another button, A DUB CTRL right next to the button rec ctrl
...one, but I'm not sure whats' its' purpose is for sure
    ...this button has

    So, do experiment w/ yours.

I have the Sony TRV27 and also had trouble using the pass through. One very important step that I found is that is won't work with a tape in the camera. Make sure you remove your tape.

I have a Sony TRV620E but it's a United Kingdom PAL handycam so it may be different anyway.

I have no switch to change it to passthrough, it simply just does it.
You plug your cable TV or VCR etc output into the 'Audio/Video' input on the camera and the source can be seen on the camera for you to watch or just record to the DV tape, to play the source through the camera and display it on the computer I have to remove the tape if I want the PC to capture it live.
