My magic DVD, how to questions!

On the DVD I am making,
I want to add files that can be printed out also. Can I just make how ever many folders I need for extra non-video files without worrying about player compatibility problems?

These will be how to type files and most likely .jpg images also.

Project might be going nicely if I could get sound durring a DV to PC capture!
Analog no problems. But DV to analog to Mpeg2?? Not really why I bought a DV camcorder!

To answer first question - YES .I have successfully put folders on my DVD with extra stuff with no problems. I suggest you trial it with a DVD-RW, but i have had no issues.
Of course it will only be visible on a computer.

DV from DV camcorder, via firewire to the pc!

I think I'll be taking the whole deal back to Wallmart! Canon Zr60 $500 ($350 online), firewire card $30, Tapes $20, and sales tax. $600 and I can't get Audio in the DV avi files! I think it all goes back!

MY videos are getting Banded lines also with fast movement, like swing your arm quickly up and down! Arm has banded lines. I have tried 3 programs DVapp, Dvio, WinDV, and none have sound.

Analogue Captures Have sound, But I didn't buy DV for $600 to have $200 Anolgue captures! I could get VHS c for $250!

I don't know if I have a codec missing or what?

I did have sound ocasionally, like one Avi was 2 mintue test and had perfect sound. Then 30 minute capture had NONE, then non-of the rest have sound either.

Latter I got one test with sound again, then lost it again.

I tried DV2 with one of the programs that gave me a choice, and DVIO just captures to a file, no options. The other I forget how it worked.

I did notice in one program that has a preview that the sound was playing through my speakers. So it is coming off the camera through firewire to the PC!

The fact that I had sound a couple times during short tests, make me think I have the right codec. But I don't have a clue why it worked about 3 times and not work 15 times
