  1. I'm trying to use forty-two to go from DVD to VCD with my Jackie Brown disc and get the following error message:

sh: -c line 1: unexpected EOF while looking for matching'"
sh: -c line 2 syntax error :unexpected end of file (2)

This is the first time I tried to use this program but it ain't working-any helpful suggestions?

    Thanks!

make sure your file path to save location / source has no spaces, illegal characters etc

My Hardrive is ILLEGAL as far as 42 is concerned
    no spaces!!! no " ' / # @ $ etc also.

that should clear it up for ya

  4. Okay...so I got it going...it took over a day....and I don't think it worked right....here what I ended up with:

    1 file named biles.mp2
    another named biles.mpv
and a folder called JACKIE_BROWN-BurnWhatsInHere - except there is nothing in there...
i double clicked on the mp2 and it opened up in itunes and played...

Can i still get a VCD out of these elements?Should'nt I have ended up with BIN and CUE files?

    Please hep!

    That did work...thanks.

Now, how to author to VCD and what happened to bin and cue files?
Did something go wrong or did I do something wrong?
Am i supposed to end up with them?
What about the empty folder that says "burn this"?

  7. Actually it worked except...the audio and the video don't seem to be perfectly lined up...This seems to be a recurring problem with me... My other computer is in the shop for a bum logic board but don't know why I'm getting the same type of problems on my iBook...

I take this back-the audio and the video are locked up pretty good when i look at it in a small window-fullscreen looks a little off but it's maybe cuz of the slow computer?

Still need to figure out how to split this thing up so it'll fit on 2 cd's--QT Pro won't let me edit 'em....

I am having much of the same problems...
Make sure 42 uses separate IN (or use DVD directly), OUT en TEMP folders. Then you wont have to use ffmpeg for muxing.
The out of sync problem is another problem. I found no solution yet.

Give it a try, and maybe we can get closer to 'perfection'.

    Hey Peoples-
Anyone know why me and this other guys VCD are ending up outta sync?
The MPG's I'm burning are in sync-the resulting VCD in toast is very out of sync.
Anybody got an idea for us?
