I was an early adopter of the cd-burner (Ricoh 2x $400). But I remember all the problems. I see that dvd burners are getting very good (pioneer A06) but with the media out today...well...its still not a 95%+ process like cds. And then people say that the dvds have glitches, pixels, etc while playing.

So I am wondering if I should pick up the A06 for the great price of $150 or should I wait a few months for newer models to come out and hopefully better burners? With all the firmware, bad cheap media, and problems out there I was wondering if everything if okay for me to jump in? I wouldn't mind waiting a few months if I knew Pioneer had something new and great that would fix all those small problems just around the corner.

Thanks for anyone who can help!

I would wait until 1 month before you die, and then get
    all the newest stuff.

  3. There is no guarantee that any DVD you author will work in 100% of the DVD players because of many factors(media, burn software, writer, player). If you wait you will save some money on an older unit but a newer unit may have less compatibility due to it's firmware and you will have to wait for an update.

  4. You can wait your whole life for better stuff or newer systems/standards.
If you want something get it.
