i have a movie in xvid format and the audio come before the video...how can i synch it?

Both virtual dub and TMPG can do this. I prefer virtual dub however. Load your film into vdub and click on audio>interleaving. A box will appear with instructions on how to skew the audio/video until they are in sync. You are going to use a positive number since the audio plays first. V dub will delay the audio for you. It.s basically hit or miss choosing the right number. Start with 500 and play your video back in vdub. If it is still out of sync change the number to 750. Keep doing this until the movie is in sync. Once it is you can either frameserve to your encoder or with the audio in full process mode and the video in direct stream copy save the film as a new avi which should now be in sync.
