  1. If a camcorder has a 270k CCD, I am assuming it is logical to capture at
352x240 (VCD standards) and then eventually burn it as a VCD? Or can the image quality benefit from the 1500+ bit rate of a SVCD? I'm new to camcorders and I'm pretty disappointed in the image quality of the one I got. I thought Hi8 was supposed to be pretty good. And I know that Hi8 is 'supposed' to have resolution around 400+ lines. Again, VCD? SVCD?
Or is the 270k CCD my limitation. Plus the cam I got has no Svideo out

    Thanks

at first I thought VCD was about the best I could get, but converting to DVD looked bad. I capped higher and the end result in my case looked better
