VCD header trick using Nero Express avoid re-encoding

I prepared my SVCD mpeg's and then did the header trick for creating a VCD with SVCD video quality.
When I try to import it in Nero Express I get the usual (as in burning rom) message that the file has not the right format but I don't get the option to ignore conversion to mpeg1.
What am I doing wrong?
