  1. I want to be able to cut parts out of some vcd .dat files that I have as they have a trademark logo that I want to get rid of.

I tried vcd cutter 4.0 from tools section but I have to register it with a code and I don't have a code as I didn't buy it.

Does anyone know of any freeware vcd cutting or editing tools that may help me?

  2. Like I said in the other post, you'll need to convert to MPEG. DAT files are not usable in video editting. Use the ISOBuster guide to turn the DAT file into an editable MPEG. Follow my (or "a") guide from there.

It has everything to do with the post.

It is not possible to do anything with a DAT file except play it. It must be turned back into a MPEG file in order to be edited.

    Renaming might work.

But the best way is to extract the MPEG from the DAT using ISOBUSTER.

Then you can edit it or open it in a video program.

dabwee, in almost every thread I see you in, you insult people trying to help you. And at the very least you are ungrateful for their help. I would like to give you a little friendly advice. Even if someone does not completely answer your question but helps you along, thank them for it. If you go around insulting people, no one is going to help you in the future.

No one here is getting paid for their time answering your questions. So no one is going to take that crap for long before giving up on you.

Dabwee, I know when I copy certain vcd files back to the comp., they turn out as .dat files! If this is the case, then try using TMPGEnc, and under the "setting/advanced/source range " tab/s, try cutting from there.

I think I'm on the right track with your post?
