    Hello,
i've just installed the ati tv wonder and i've got problems. The sound is ok but the picture is all scrambled. I've installed the 7.1 program and
drivers. I've changed the resolution and bit colour but it's still scrambled. I'm using an Nvidia Geforce 2 with 32 megs video card.

I've also tried installing Dscaler program, the video is perfect but
    the
sound is all static and low.

I have the sound on the tv card hooked up externally, will hooking it
    up
internally fix my sound problem with Dscaler?

Anyways, if anyone has solutions on either of my problems it would be
    greatly appreciated.

By the way, will an Asus V7100 Magic GeForce 2 Mx200 32 megs with TV out card work well with TV Wonder ?

I was trying to install the card with another video card for a dual display, but I had nothing but problems. A lot of the same, could hear, but couldn't see anything but garbled pictures. I tried 3 different installs. The only thing that got it to work fianlly was to pull my old video card out and then install the whole thing again with just the ati. After that, it worked flawlessly.

The other thing that solved some problems was to give the ati card it's own irq in the bios settings.

    Hope this helps.

How did you install the whole thing again with just ATI ?
Isn't ATI TV Wonder an add-on card ?

What version of the wonder card are you using? I have the AIW 128, but most of the wonder cards are full video cards in themselves.

  5. i have an ati tv wonder card too (pci card) i can capture only 352x240 resolution (vcd) but i can't go any higher than this. i tried to capture an svcd quality but i have to switch it to preview mode instead of overlay mode but i'm getting lots of dropped frames and the video being captured freezes. soundwise on vcd capturing, i have no problem. have you tried capturing 480x480 (svcd) or higher? what capture driver do you have? i have booktree that went with my ati card. anyone know where i can get a capture driver compatible with my tuner card so that i can capture a svcd quatlity?

    I haven't tried capturing anything because I haven't even
got the TV Wonder card to work properly.

You said you can't capture in a higher resolution?...what if you try using a different capture program such as PowerVCR II ? Would that help or the capture resolution depends on the TV Wonder hardware ?

  7. I have no problem capturing at 352x240 resolution (vcd) from VHS and dvd . I made quite a few vcds already and they work fine. Like I said, I can't go any higher than 352x240. Some say maybe it is my cpu speed which is only 500 mhz celeron but I'm happy with vcd quality. When I installed my ATI TV Wonder card, I had no problems at all, installed the program that came with it. I hooked up my sound card externally. My only problem is I dropped some frames like 50 out of 80000 captured but I don't care because you won't even notice it.

Your are using win98 and thats why you got your Tv wonder to work. If you try using XP with TV Wonder you will get the same problem as I did.

  11. i'm contented with win 98. my card works with this system. why would i use win xp and have the same problem as you do?why don't you use win 98 so that you won't have any poblems capturing? I don't upgrade my os whenever there is a newer one out.

  12. WinXP + TV Wonder here and works very well. No install issues at all, exactly the same as installing the latest MMC in win2k.

Misunderstanding...I said "if you try using XP..." I didn't ask you to upgrade to XP.

well I'm not using "XP", nor will I ever, but I do have the ati tv wonder w/video capture and I must say it's a damn good card if you don't use MMC 7.x of course!
I say use powervcr and you won't be disappointed!

    Intel Celeron 466 o/c 584 w/ slot 1 adapter
    196 Mem
    Abit BH6 Mobo
    Voodoo3 3000 AGP
    ATI TV Wonder PCI
    Creative DVD DXRII Decoder
    SBLive Value

have not had any install issues at all with any hardware. TV Wonder works a little better under XP than 2K - at least when capping in latest MMC it doesn't drop a few frames at beginning of recording which would force me to correct desync afterwards.
