If you want to fit the whole thing on one CD, you can do it. You can do one of two things (that I can think of right off the top of my head): 1. If the file is in MPEG format, in Nero, choose VCD (like you are making a VCD), and uncheck the "make standard compliant" check mark. It will then burn it on to a CD making it an XVCD, playable in any computer with a CD-ROM drive. Or... 2. Chose Mode 2 for burning in Nero by clicking CD-ROM for CD type, then click on the ISO tab, then clicking mode 2/XA in the Format box. That should allow you to write up to 800MB on an 80 minute CD, or 740MB on a 74 minute CD. But, you will be cutting down on the error correction by burning in mode 2. But you should be OK.

  3. (S)VCDs are burned as mode 2. Heres some info about a 700MB CDR:

    Code:
    Command:
    cdrdao disk-info --device 0,1,0 --driver generic-mmc-raw

    OutPut:
    Cdrdao version 1.1.7 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty

Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.

    Using libscg version 'andreas-0.5-UNIXWARE_Patch'

    0,1,0: SONY DVD RW DRU-500A Rev: 1.0f
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC (raw writing) - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

    CD-RW : no
    Total Capacity : 79:57:74 (359849 blocks, 702/807 MB)
    CD-R medium : DIGITAL STORAGE TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD
                           Long Strategy Type, e.g. Cyanine
    Recording Speed : n/a
    CD-R empty : yes
    The part of importance:
    Total Capacity : 79:57:74 (359849 blocks, 702/807 MB)

    See the 702/807 MB, that means a 700MB CDR will hold a 807MB (S)VCD

  4. thanx man i tried the first way you told me and it worked perfectly.

another question i have though is when making vcds i notice a format movie to fit screen type of option. my question is does this mean itll fill up your whole screen? cuz when i watch it in the divx player or windows media player and make the video size bigger it just seems to stretch the movie out insteasd of just fill up my whole screen and still look clear like it normally does. if so can i watch vcds on my pc with my cd rom drive or do i need a dvd rom drive

Glad it helped. You can watch VCDs with a CD-ROM drive. I'm not sure about Windows MP, but I think it has problems with aspect ratios - if you go to full screen it just enlarges the resolution, it doesn't really deal with the aspect ratio. At least that's what I think I'm remembering. If you want to watch them on your PC, try a program like PowerDVD. It deals with aspect ratios, and does a nice job. I know some DVD movies come with a free player on the DVD (something like Star Wars Episode I springs to mind), so if you have a DVD drive on your PC, check out some of your movies and see if they have a free player on them.
