Here is the best way I found to use AviSynth with MainConcept Encoder 1.4. As stated in most forums as a fix, disabling the DirectShow import module works on a 1-pass encode, but I found it errors out on 2-pass. So to fix this follow the steps below.
Browse to the MainConcept program folder. Something like C:\Program Files\MainConcept\MPEG Encoder. Find the file IDShow.dll. Rename to IDShow.bak.
You should be able to now import AviSynth(.avs) files without any issue, and run a 2-pass encode.

Does MainConcept 1.4 allow 2 pass encode?
My 1.3 doesn't.
It's cool. I'll try it.
