    Hi,

    i've some problems with 0.0.8.

I have digialized analog Video VHS Material using Formac Studio DV to a DV and a Quicktime File .

1.When i try to choose the quicktime file ffmpegx hangs up, nothing happens

    2. Using the DV file i choose several quick presets (SVCD,VCD,...) but i don't hear the sound of the original DV file, using the PLAY Button (starts mplayer) or playing the converted file with another player (mplayer, vlc,quicktime,..), thers is no sound , what i'm doing wrong ?

    3. Performance, it takes about 6-7 hours to convert a 60 min, DV file (12 GB) , i'm using a 12 " Powerbook, G4 867 Mhz, 640 BM , 60 GB HD (more than 30 GB free). Is this a problem caused in the apple hardware ??

Hopefully i get this problems solved, then it's no question for me to pay the price for that tool !

    Thanks , Bernd

ffmpegX is scanning the file. I found that in some cases and with very big files the scanning can take too much time. I'll fix this in order to prevent situations looking like a "hang-up". To avoid that, you could type manually the filepath in the Open.. field.

Which is the name of your file? If it is not ending in ".dv" you should add the extension manually.

Each encoding engine has its own performances. ffmpeg is very fast (probably the fastest around). mencoder is slower. mpeg2enc is even slower. Options and filters will also affect encoding speed.
