  2. Paint Shop Pro 8.0
    PhotoShop 7.0

    Those are the main contenders.

Hi guys thanks. I just saw how to edit text with photoshop. One more questions. Can you change the color becuase the only settings it has is font and size?

Also after I save my template as a psd how do I covert it into a web template to edit the buttons on frontpage? When in photoshop I click save for web the color on the pic gets distoreted.

you just asked a mouthful. it depends on what version you have on the text color question. to save a template, you have to create slices then save for the web. again, the act of saving will depend on what version you have.

http://www.photoshopcafe.com/ has a great tutorial on how to go from photoshop to webpage. it uses dreamweaver but i think you should be able to adapt it for your use.

I prefer dreamweaver over front page because it lets you do more things and is not very difficult to use.

I'm with Devanshu - if you're having trouble placing text over a graphic or may - at any time - want to change that text, use a layer to lay text over the image.

Dreamweaver's great for that and you can tweak it in notepad, if necessary.

I always prefered Notepad over Dreamweaver or any of those other "Do it for you" programs

Too true. But I do use Dreamweaver to plunk in complicated tables. :c) Much, much quicker for stuff like that. Once they're in, it's Notepad from there on.

I tried to learn pure HTML code, but never got around to learning it all the way.

:c) Well, it's not something I'd want to learn if I didn't have to use it all the time, but I do.

It can be tricky. Accidentally delete one little "<" or something, and hours of work goes wonky! :cD
