  1. I am trying to play ogm files. I have installed everything I was supposed to but I am still having troubles. The audio plays fine in wmp 6.4 but the picture is just green. A error message comes up in wmp9 and it says its the xvid codec. I tried uninstalling the xvid codec but nothing changes. Its weired that eventhough I have removed the codec all regular xvid files still play fine. Is there some way I can remove the xvid.dll file so I can try installing a different version?

I have even tried using bsplayer but it does the same thing.

  2. There are a couple of things you can try. First is to simply download and install a different or updated XviD distribution (I get mine from www.betanews.com) which should overwrite the existing Dll.

Second, you could install ffdshow and configure it to decode XviD files rather than the XviD or DivX decoder. This is what I recommend as the ffdshow liba decoder has given me exceptional stability, with little or no noticeable quality loss.

    Hope this helps,

    Prospero
