I am trying to back-up Two Weeks Notice and so far have created 5 coaster and given up.
I have used several combinations of software including AnyDVD, DVDSHRINK, CLONEDVD and others.
Can anyone please advise what I am doing wrong, I have a Pioneer 106 and have tried JVC and Traxdata media.
Thanks in advance,
Kernal

Turn your computer on.
Actually, try giving us at least 1 detail as to how you made the coasters. Maybe then someone could help -
Thanks, turned my computer on but I am still having problems.
Thought the fact that I had stated which software, drive and media I was using may have been enough.
The writer just stops unexpectedly this can happen at any point the best I have managed to get to is about 90% complete but generally only get to 1 or 2 %, I normally have to re-boot my PC to get the coaster out of the drive, the system does not lock up it just won't let me open the drive.
Using the following system.
AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
512MB RAM
60 Gb (2 x 30Gb IBM in RAID 0 format)
Any help would be appreciated.

Usually burning programs will have a "test" or "simulate" option. When selected it will not actually write to the disk, but prented that it is. That way if something is amiss, you find out before burning a coaster. Try enabling this option. It may give you a message about the problem instead of just freezing. Either way, its worth trying out, it won't cost you any money for a wasted disk.

Thanks, will try that.
Was wondering if anyone else had managed to back this DVD up OK ?

If you are just having trouble with this DVD but have succesfully backed up others the DVD probably needs a good cleaning or resurfacing (DVD doctor). I have had several DVD's that played fine but when I went to copy they would give me trouble. DVD Doctor (or is it Doctor DVD?) fixed it every time.

Presto,
something I am curious about, sometimes cleaning a disk is recomended before ripping when the problem is a burning failure!
If the rip did not seem to have problems/errors, and was writen to the Hard drive, then why would a burn fail once it starts? Do the burning programs actually check the video files durring the burn, or just burn whats on the hard drive?
I mean I can see a burn failing if it can't read the hard drive, but once the file is saved I would think it would be burned to the disk however it is writen on the Hard drive.
I am sure someday I will have such a problem is why I am asking! -
