I will be getting a Hitachi DVD-camcorder that uses the mini-dvd-r and dvd-ram disks. I think these are 8cm. I am getting the camcorder for free so I can't complain about it, but my question is what can I do with it? Someone at work told me that I could put the mini-dvds in my computer and store/edit them. Then, after editing I could send it back to the camcorder to burn a mastered copy. I want to know if this is true... I don't have any other dvd burner. Just the camcorder, which stores on 8cm disks. Can this work?

your coworker is right. it can be done.you can use ulead's moviefactory or videostudio to capture and edit from and to your hitachi camcorder. but you have to be patience, since burning w/ your camcorder is very slow.
goodluck
