I just installed the new release of MMC 8. The only difference I've found so far is that you can now schedule recordings while you are recording. I've wanted that feature for a while but on my number two computer it caused dropped frames. Maybe it will work on my main video computer.
Just curious if others have tried the new version and what difference if any it made.

I just revamped my whole system, including MMC 8.6. I don't see any differences at all as compared to MMC 8.1.
My system works better, but having changed SO MANY things at once (BIOS, HD, OS, reformat), not sure if the new MMC has anything to do with it.
Runs well on an XP PRO system.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I hate to go through this, but I guess I will.
Maybe my scheduled captures will start working. -
Foo, what is wrong with your scheduled captures? For a while there I had a problem where MMC not record unless I toggled the screensize but the last ATI driver fixed that.

OK I just finished installing 8.6
I havent tested it yet
My previous problems were:
1. Scheduled capture with PicVideo MJPEG frequently fail to start. MPEG2 always starts
2. Captures with MJPEG always have Audio 650 ms early
3. MJPEG captures take a long time to stop (as if large temp file being
moved ) MPEG2 captures stop instantly. -

I have thought of that, just havent got around to testing it.
My suspicion is Huffy would be the same as MJPEG just
because it's non ATI. I arrived at all my methods with
meticulous testing more than 2 years ago. I think I may have had
editing problems with I-frame only MPEG captures. I'm too
stupid to write things down, and I have CRS -

Well it's dead on with MPEG2 captures and it passes the
+-.2% ATI test.
