  1. Has anyone actually fooled around with multi-track data DVDs, that is burn the data DVD and leave disc open, and then burn a second track later. People used to do this with CDRs to add files incrementally before CDRWs came out and it was easier just to re-record the disc. I notice that Record Max has the option for leaving the DVD disc open. Has anyone tried this and been successful in reading and accessing the multiple tracks.

I want to try this because sometimes my Harddrive is so full I can’t let 4 GB build up before writing the DVD and I need to off-load data to disc. I have had terrible experiences with packet-writing software (Direct CD, CD file). They never work and their drivers can screw up one’s system completely.

  2. Why don´t you burn files from your HD on a RW so that you have the space you need to author your DVD?

  3. I've planning to transfer some old VHS tapes a few episodes at a time, like 800MB at a time, and I'd like to add them sequentially to a DVD for storage before creating the final DVD.

I would do the multi-track with a DVD-RW (so I could ultimately re-use it), but I just wanted to see if anyone had tried doing this.

  4. Yep - no problem with WinOnCd and Nero 5.10something.

    Happy burning.
