howdy! new at this, managed to add a motion menu as a background using dvd-lab 1.3 beta 2 (win xp) with background music. also have a submenu that it's linked to but that's just a plain static background. (motion menu has 2 links, one to video, one to submenu).

i tested the compiled dvd files (before burning to dvd) using powerdvd and the menu played fine (links and chapters all worked beautifully!)

but when i played the actual burned dvd, the motion menu would play for 2-3 sections and stop at the exact same stop and keep looping. the submenu works fine and has a soundtrack playing in the background, no weird stopping/looping problem.

the only thing i can think of as a problem might be i used a wav file instead of ac3 file for the audio?? the motion menu was demuxed using dvd-lab from an original vob file (was a motion menu from another home video someone created for me).

or could this just be a problem with the dvd player? I have an older RCA one from 3+ years ago. though, when i plopped in the dvd to play in the computer, it screwed up too. the motion menu played all the way through, but the link to my video did not work, it just hung. the connection for the motion menu is set to to "loop".

any thoughts?? sorry if this seems simple, i'm totally new to this!

  2. You'd be surprised but yeah it could be the old standalone. Several older players have trouble with DVDR media, esp with menus (do a forum search). Given that it worked correctly on your PC w/ power dvd it's either the media or your standalone.

Do you havea friend with a newer player to check this out on?
