  1. Hey, i've been tring to do this for a while with no luck. I've tried many "DVD" programs but all come up with an error, and when i try to open the mpeg file in the "MPEGAV" folder, my windows explorer freezes.. So has anyone had any luck in doing this, if so.. what is my problem, and how can I fix it so I can watch them?

    Thanks

  3. He makes reference to the MPEGAV folder. I think he has a CD-ROM drive (or DVD-ROM drive) but now software DVD player. Either way take a look to the left under 'PLAY' and see if that helps any.

For SVCDs you'll need to have an MPEG2 codec installed.

  4. Yeah, I have a CD ROM in my computer, and want to watch a SVCD movie on it, but can't.. In PowerDVD i get the error "The system cannot find the file specified."

and i just installed those codecs.. didnt help

  5. There is a possibility that the disc is damaged or part of it can't be read --> that error.

  7. Ok, I figured it out. The SVCD's that I where tring to watch microsoft did say they where corrupted.. i tried another SVCD and got it to work

but the one thing i noticed about the "corrupted" svcds is that someone encoded them over 800mb (they are like 830mb's)

is there any way I can make microsoft recognize this and somehow get it to play, or are they dead?

  8. there is nothing wrong with 800MB SVCD's 830 sounds a bit high, I think the largest I have put onto a 700MB CD is 825MB's without overburning
