Hello, I need some help. I've been trying for quite some time to convert an AVI of a tv show I downloaded to an MPEG to make a VCDDVD. Most of the episodes I downloaded will only convert in EO Video. I've tried most everything else, but that is the only one that will work. There are a few files, however, that, after conversion, only show up as an unnamed file type. instead of being listed as MPEG or AVI, it simply says File. It will still play, but it will not let me load it into Ulead Movie Factory to burn on to a DVD.
Because of this, I've tried to run these certain files through DivFix, and then try to load it up in VirtualDub. Virtual Dub, however, gives me the error message "couldn't locate decompressor for MP42" after trying to load the file. I've downloaded the codec "MS MPEG4 V2", but don't know how to install it. I'm trying to work off of guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/91597.php
If anyone has any idea how to get Ulead Movie Factory to recognize these mutant MPEG files or a way to get Virtualdub to load this AVI to work on it, or any other ideas I sure would appreciate it. If I'm pointed in a completely wrong direction, please let me know. Thanks again.
Kyle
