Hi,
I was just wondering if I can do the pulldown without re-encoding the SVCD clip so the player thinks that I've 29.97fps source (even if it's 23.976fps)? Is there any guide or can you tell me what software does that (and how)?
I did try to find help from guides and forum but had no success.
Thanks in advance!

If it's SVCD it probably already has pulldown flags. It wouldn't
play correctly without it.
If not get Pulldown and run it. -
Thanks FOO but,
If for example VCDEasy (and VideoPack) tells me that it has 23.976fps and it's not SVCD compatible, doesn't that mean that I have to do something to it?
I have previously processed many divx clips (23.976fps) to svcd where pulldown has cheated programs to think that the clip has 29.97fps.
Anyway, I just tried the pulldown but it keeps saying that my clip is not mpeg video stream ... should this work also with SVCDs? My clip is otherwise standard clip beside that framerate (I also re-muxed it with bbmpeg).
I know ... stupid questions

Pulldown does not trick anything. The pulldown flags tell the docoder that, yes the source is still 23.976fps but that it should be telecined during decoding to 29.97fps.
SVCDs can either be hard encoded at 29.97fps or they can be stored as 23.976fps (29.97fps internally) which just means 23.976fps with pulldown flags.
I assume you are trying to add pulldown flags to an mpg program stream using pulldown.exe. This can only be done to an mpeg VIDEO stream. You need to demultiplex, add pulldown flags to the video stream (m2v or mpv) and then remultiplex into a mpg program stream and then import into your authoring program. -
I could swear I got away with pulldown on a system stream
before. Maybe not. I know the instructions say to demux -
Thanks,
Now I got it to work. First I tried with only the video stream using the command line but it said that the file is not a MPEG video stream. After that I just tried the whole stream with the same result.
Then I tried again only the video stream but now with the GUI. Strangely enough now it marked those flags.
I don't know if that command based pulldown liked the file extension .m2v or what was the problem but the most important thing is that now I have a compliant svcd so thanks again.
