  1. i have a movie that i have downloaded from Kazaa and it wouldnt play so i ran it through gspot and it says corrupt avi header and the error i get is

    "This is an invalid AVI file due to corruption of the data in the header. This is a serious problem, and this file is not likely to playable

    Details: While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI , found bad length value 1261923488 at file offset 0x000007f8"

    is there anyway to fix is or is the file no good?

    If you can't open it in VDUB, then it's probably hosed. Kazaa is real, real bad about this (especially with files from multiple sources). The only other chance you have is avifix , which is a fairly simple brute force technique for 'fixing' the AVI. Don't try to re-encode after using avifix.
