  1. Just started using DVD Lab andIm having a few problems joining Vob files.

Im trying to make a disc using Making of.. and Documentry form my James Bond Collection.
    I ripped with DVD Decrypter
Then used DVD Shrink to pick the features that I want to use and re-authored.
Some of the tracks have then come up with 2 vobs.
I can then import them to the assets in DVD Labs with demux(Not really sure what this is so I leave as is)
The problem is Each vob has to be made into a new movie so I have half the feature in one movie and the other half in the next.
I have tried directing movie1 to movie 2 via the connections with a line, but every time Ive done this I get an error when compiling.
I also read on this forum that DVDLab has a feature to join vobs, but I cant find it anywhere.

    So my questions are.
    1. Can I join 2 vobs in DVDLab 1.1?
    2. Do I need to join the vobs before importing into DVDLab? Is this possible? How?
3.Is it possible to make a disc with various features from different DVD using only DVD Decrytpter, DVD Shrink and DVD Lab?

  2. Hi there ender
i recently had the same problem using this software & it doesn't matter where you look you cant find any where about joining the vobs.

its been a while since i've used it.
when you import your movie to your assets do you only have 2 options you can pick???????

If so you are going to need the 1.3 update
Once updated there will be a 3rd option when importing to the assets bin & this 3rd option will be to join the vobs.

    Hope this helps

  3. Look, here's the deal: when you have one or more VOBs that are *part of the same movie* then DVDLab will automatically handle them if you import THE FIRST VOB ONLY and tell it to demux. It will find all the relevent VOBs that are part of that movie and demux them into elementary streams (which are MUCH better for DVDLab).

Yes, there are joining VOB options but you do not want to use them, they don't work reliably and you will lose sound sync or experience other problems. Trust me, you want to demux, and DVDLab will do this for you just fine when you import the first VOB and tell it to demux.

  4. Thankyou for your help,

I up graded DVD Lab up to 1.3 and it worked a charm thanks for the advice.

Im kinda new with all this and I thought it would be easier keeping the vobs as is rather then change them around.

What is the difference? and/or What is the advantage to demux? Imworried about destroying something or losing quality by playing around to much.
