    Hello--
I was looking at some FujiFilm DVD-R discs on Ebay for $85.50 (Shipping/insurance included) Is this a good buy? Are FujiFilm DVD-Rs discs a good brand? I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104

.85 cents is an ok price if you dont mind the slow burn and the possiblity that the discs may be hosed during shipment. I myself would pay .40 to .70 more and get something in the store that you can get right now instead of waiting and if they are hosed you can bring em back and they will probably be faster.

    Yep, i agree!!
I bought some off e-bay, the guy packed them okay but the spindle the dvd-r's were on broke, the top & bottom few disc's were scratched, & then the media ended up being crap, even though the id code said they were a maxell brand!!!!
Easy to just go to the store or return if you have a problem.

  6. That is a good price if you are absolutely sure they are Fuji. Why not post the link?

These blanks are excellent quality, with a long archival life. The undersides are a very dark purple, which usually indicates a deep burn that will not fade with time. I buy these blanks (in a box of 10) for $19.95 at Fry's. Basically 2 bux per disk. When I burn for other people, I use the GQ DVD-R's, but when I want to burn something that's for my own personal collection, I use the Fujifilms. Also, I think you mentioned that the ones you saw are 1X. The ones that I get in the box are 4X. At 2 bux a disc, considering the quality, that's a pretty decent deal, but for BULK (25 or more) from what I hear, Riteks are the best if you're trying to save money AND come out with the best quality possible. ANYBODY KNOW WHERE THEY SELL RITEK DVD-R'S IN BUNDLES OF 25 IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA?

  8. The Fuji's(at least currently) are Taiyo Yuden 4x's in the 10-Pack/Jewel case. In the 50 pack they are 1x (2x) Ritek G03. I haven't seen a 100-pack.

If you ask me the 10 pack (which says MADE IN JAPAN) is the best media available.

Shame the larger packs are something else.

  10. yes, the 50 pack says "made in Taiwan" so it's fairly easy to tell. Yes, the Made in Japan are Taiyo Yuden's, just like their CDR's also probably the best. '

    Q. are there any other media(DVD/CDR) companies even manufacturing in Japan? or is it only Taiyo Yuden? Real, actual Maxell DVD-R, maybe?[/quote]

  11. They are best - at least for my Sony DRX 500UL- I have so far used about 200 disk and not a single failed. All of my Disk was made in Taiwan and mfg by RICOH- B

Yes. They are amazingly good quality, and what trips me it that there are brands that cost more, but don't seem to be as good in quality.

  13. I bought a few 10 packs when they were on sale a few months back at CompUSA. They all burned without a problem and aren't too expensive.
