Dual writers wining over single, is that any surprise to ANYONE?Well as further evidence that dual writers are winning over single format writers, Sony has some news about their Dual-writer claiming top spot in the US.
If you had a choice of buying a car that ran only on gas, or buy a car for almost the same price that ran equally as well on gas, desiel, propane which would you buy?
Myself, all else being equal would choose the one that runs on 3 fuels!
You can get what ever is cheapest and most available at anytime, and if one becomes hard to obtain you could switch to the others.
So if you had the choice of the same car built single feul, or choice of 3 fuels for the same price, you would be just plain stupid to buy the one that locks you into only one fuel!
Because of the diference in fuels that's not really possible (yet), but that's the way it is with burners!
It's like would you buy a burner that does DVDs only or one that does CD and DVD? If you don't already have a CD burner you would buy the one that does both! Course they all burn both, but if you had a choice, any reason you would preffer the one that did not burn CDs, if all else were equal? And price the same?
It should be no surprise to anyone if people buy the tool that has the ability to do the most jobs over one with limited abilites when the prices are the same. Even if they never use the extra features, why not get them?
Myself I plan to buy a dual format next time now that prices are about the same for daul or single. I may never write a + disk, but it doesn't really cost any extra to have that option so why NOT get it?
And with enough consumers with this attitude it's manufactor dual format or die to the companies making the drives. They have no choice but to go dual format now, or die!

People just can't seem to accept the fact that -R is better than +R.
