Alba DVD45

Seen this dvd player in argos for 39.99, anyone got an idea wether or not it pays svcd's or not? Cheers for any help

I haven't tried it myself, but most people seem that it will not play VCDs or SVCDs. Look at the "DVD Hacks" section of the site, however, and you'll find that someone claims he got it to work - I don't know how reliable that info is.

Also bear in mind that the £37.99 doesn't include a scart lead, so if you don't already have one, it's really not any cheaper than a bunch of other DVD players for about £50, some of which will definately play VCDs. Aside from that, the Alba 45 is a decent "basic" DVD player.
