  1. Does anyone else have a problem cutting an mpeg file with the mpeg tools in tmpgenc? I have no problem cutting when i convert to vcd, it only happens after converting to svcd. As soon as i move the slider to where i want to cut the film tmpgenc freezes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I believe that is because tmpgenc cannot cut a mpeg2 file. Do a forum search I have seen this question discussed in the past.

TMPGenc wiil cut MPEG2 but frequently not where you tell it
with the slider. This is not guaranteed but might help
Open the video in Vdub - find the cut point - note the TimeStamp
and TYPE that into TMPGenc instead of using the slider.
If the video is screwey it will hang anyway, but less chance without
    the slider.

Get womble MPEG2VCR - works good, frame accurate, and MUCH faster
