    Hello everybody !

After a lot of tests about MPEG2 Encoding, I definitively choosed Mainconcept MPEGEncoder :P

I would like to know how you encode your movie..

In a movie, there are many parts which show quiet scene (a quiet dialogue, etc), many parts which show faster scene (hard fighting, quickly travelling etc)

I may understand that a kind of GOP fits with a kind of scene..
    May I make a mistake?

    For example:
    - a "quick/fast scene" should have a lot of I in GOP
    - a "slow scene" should have a lot of P & B in GOP

Do you encode separatly/independently your scene ??
Is it possible to do that and to author on a DVD in order to make a classical/compliant DVD ?

    Am i dreaming ?

    See U!

Some of the encoders have "detect scene change" option
which starts a new GOP when the next picture is unrelated
to the previous. Other than that there is "motion search precision"
which can be set to a high level to save bits on high motion scenes.

I don't think you want to manually encode each little part of your movie

thanks a lot foo but, another question ..

how can professional dvd makers do to provide DVD without (or with a little bit..) artefact ??

do they encode with a super-encoder ? or do they make scene-by-scene ?

Are you having a problem ? Does your video look bad or
is this just academic questions ?
If you do it right, TMPGenc 2 pass VBR makes videos
as good as commercial ones. I certainly cant tell the difference.
