On some DVDs I've copied, sound synchronization has been off a bit. Then later in the movie I sometimes will get a little stuttering. I hit the space bar and pause it for a moment, then start it and everything's fine.
Anyone else had this problem. (I've noticed some of my original DVDs occasionally have sound synch problems as well. Is this normal with DVD or just sloppy production?)
Thanks!

Are you playing these DVDs on a notebook computer? If so, check your power saver settings. They made be set up to favour battery life vs. speed, and this can cause DVDs to stutter during playback.

Nope, just a desktop machine. Might want to run AdAware again and log off Messenger.
I really love DVDs on computers. I was just watching Lonesome Dove series again not long ago and it's amazing how good some of these productions are. The first hard disk I ever bought was a full size five megabyte. Had to remember to park the heads, but hey, I could just load my WordStar on that gigantic drive and a number of other programs and go to town.
With the price of going to see a movie today at a theater, I just wait until it's out on DVD and buy it. At first the developers billed them almost indestructable, suggesting one could even play frisbee with them.
Thank goodness programmers and folks like 321Studios are around. I can be more careless with copies and if I loan them out, I don't have to worry about someone losing it or scratching it.
And I love my Sony DRU-510A. My system has enough room and power for my LiteOn 48125W, so I'm pretty well fixed up.
Cheers,

Well, you sure have enough power and capacity in your system such that your DVDs should not be stuttering. (Should have checked out your profile before my notebook question). You might be on the right track as far as cleaning up your system goes. Back when I was making VCD back-ups, I had to periodically clean up my registry and defrag my hard drive, or I'd start burning coasters. Worth a try.
Hope your stuttering clears up and you 'secede'.
