    To all in DVD world:

Currently, I author VCDs using the typical VCD menu structure.

Is it possible, using DVD authoring software, to create DVD type menus, with DVD style interactivity, and burn in onto a CD? Does DVD authoring software, (and indeed DVD players) rely on the actual DVD media to function?

Looking forward to any feedback. Cheers-

    Elio.

  2. Try Ulead DVD movie factory. You can make svcd's and vcd's with dvd type menu system. You could download the trial version and give it a try.

No, you can't have same dvd interactivity menus on a vcd. But you accomplish almost the same, https://www.videohelp.com/author#27

You can burn dvd on cdr/w media though but then it will be minidvd/cdvd and it doesn't work on many players. www.dvdrhelp.com/minidvd

  4. I believe adam's guide here. Takes DVD like vcd/svcd menus to the limit.

The concept is simple, if anything changes, you are looking at a new menu/video clip. Basically, if you want to mimic highlights, draw a new picture and switch to that. Motion menus are the same.

All of this is really a lot of trouble to create (even if some package does the heavy work for you).
I mean it in the nicest way.
