    Okay
This may be a stupid question but i have never really thought about it before. When i transfer a LD to my PC and then author it with TMPGEnc DVD Author then i burn it back to dvdr it is always has regions listed as all of hem, if i rip it back to my HD with DVD Decrypter and burn it with NERO it is still "all regions" is there a program that will let me burn back my VIDEO_TS folder making it region 1 only ?? and compatible with the majority of set top dvd players ??
    Thanks

    Thanks tompika
But even though this will make it region 1 if i burn it back with nero it will still be region 1 ? nero won't make it region free again ? or does DVD Shrink 2.3 have a burning option ? i already had the program just never really messed with it and i already have it encoding so i have to wait until it's done to scan through the options

  4. The region information is stored in the IFO files. The easiest way to change it is with IFOEdit, there's no real need to run it through DVD Shrink (with zero compression) as that will take some time.

Since the region info is stored in the IFO files when you burn the VIDEO_TS folder it will maintain it. Note however, that most of the programs you use to back up your discs make them region 1,2,3,4,5,6 NOT region 0. While it's true that some standalones will not play region 0 discs, all of them will play mutiple region discs. In fact many commerical discs are released with multiple regions.

Ie. there's no really need to make your DVDRs region 1 only.

  5. You are right but CHAOS wanted to make a
specific region DVDR that IFOEdit can not do.

  6. @tompika

Ifoedit CAN set specific DVD regions.

    @CHAOS
But even though this will make it region 1 if i burn it back with nero it will still be region 1 ?
Are you asking or telling? The region code is indentified in the VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMGM_MAT, as what Vejita-sama said. Does Nero change this? I haven't tested it if it does. Never had to. Anyway, how about trying ImgTool?

  7. Some authoring programs also have the option to pick which region you want the DVD to be.

    Hey
I was asking if i made it region 1 with DVD Shrink, which i did, if nero would make it all regions ? well i tried it, i burned back the files after using DVD Shrink, with nero and the dvdr came up as all region ?
And i already have the VIDEO_TS folder or the dvd authored so all i am trying to do is burn it back to a dvdr making it region 1 only, not all or multiple........

You can do a region patch using DVD Decrypter select tools then region patch the region you want & burn Using DVD Decrypter's burn engine. I've never used it my self but it will work.

    Hey
    Hmmmm...
Well, DVD Decrypter only lets you burn .iso images & it only lets you region patch .BUP & .IFO files..........
Maybe i'll try to patch the files and then burn back with nero, but i'm thinking nero will just all region it anyways.....
