Assuming no special offer on MMS it is much cheaper to email. I think my service provider has a limit of 25kB per message, not much use really. What do you think of the P800 mats, I have had mine since March, I love it best phone available IMHO, and with 128MB memory stick you can just about fit a whole movie on it.![]()

I love it's features, but since I also own a Psion 5 mx (both being EPOC devices), I was a bit worried about the PC end of business, and I had some issues at first with the PC not "seeing" the P800 randomly. In short, the PC connectivity for EPOC devices isn't on my list of "Best Software Ever"...
...and it's too big and heavy. My other phone is a Samsung SGH-A100, very small clam shell, and I am perhaps spoiled, but I can't play soccer with the P800 in my leg pocket - it pulls my trousers down to my ancles in three stepsPerhaps I'll start wearing bracers.
The camera is pretty good, but the images comes ut blurred at the edges, but it gives an artistic effect, so I can live with that.
Hand writing recognition is excellent - Much better that XP Tablet edition, CE.net and even Palm. I almost never use the on screen kbd.
I still just got the 16MB card - I wish it didn't use memory sticks, but some more standard mem expansion, but since Sony is involved, what could I expect?
One more thing before I stop complaining - A screen saver with the time in big numbers! (Like T310) My old eyes require me to put my glasses on as soon as I want to read anything on screen
But, I'd never give it back, and I feel handicapped without it. Surf the web, read my mail, send a picture of my daughter playing a footie game to my wife during half time, (never thoght I'd do that - ever!), play Doom, listen to music - everything I ordinarilly do with a computer (but not encode...)

The way that I converted a video to mp4 format was using virtual dub with the divx5 codec. It worked pretty well. I don't know about the sound because I only have the nokia 7650 that has very little space.

i have tried this exact senario - trying to convert video to play on an NEC E606 phone... i have got to the stage that i have got an MP4 clip that plays fine on Quicktime player, but doesn't play on the phone at all... i have tried a 3gp clip, but the phone doesn't accept this file type - only MP4 files.
please help me!!!!
much appricated... -
Smartmovie is very good.

this phone won't accept programs to be installed on it, so SmartMovie is no good and i'm back at square one...

3gp is mpeg4 AFAIK - how about renaming the .3gp file to mp4 or whatever this phone considers a movie file? Phones seems rather picky about file extensions...
/Mats -
it doesn't seem to be that easy...
the file seems to only be saved as one format or the other... i understand both formats are basically the same thing, but how do you change the file extension type? i can't seem to work that small part out! i know i'm damn close to getting this to work!!!! arrrrhhhh...... -
How do you transfer the movie to your phone? Cable?
I used Nokia MultiMedia Converter 2 to produce movies for my P800. It's very limited to resolution, bit rate, frame rate etc (the 3gp specs), but try it. Then after you have a .3gp file, just rename it to .mp4 (or whatever the NEC wants)´and transfer it to your phone.

yes, i use a cable to transfer the file, and that part works with no hassels at all...
i've been using QuickTime Pro to convert the movie files, and they all work no problems on the p.c.
i'll give the Nokia MultiMedia Converter 2 a try, and hopefully that will work! i'm sure it is just settings that i need to get right... -
Use PacketVideo software will definitely work. Download a trial copy of PacketVideo Recorder from http://www.packetvideo.com/shop/recorderdownload.asp. Confirm to work on the Motorola E398.

i have used the following programs -
Quicktime Pro
Nokia Multimedia Converter 2
PacketVideo
all of these do what i want to do, but the problem i have is that the .3gp file extension is not accepted by the NEC E606 phone - only MP4... it's not as easy as changing the file name, it's the type that is the problem.
Quicktime Pro lets me save it as a .MP4 extension, but even though the end result is perfect to play on p.c., the same file on the phone says 'playtime 0 sec's'?!? what is it that the phone says this when it's fine on a p.c.?? -
Seems like the NEC is very picky - Found any more docs on what it want, more than "MP4"? You probably have to dig into their developer site (if they have one) to get more info.
