  1. Hi. Is it possible to take a DIVX movie with AC3 encoding, and convert it to a DVD keeping the AC3 surround sound? I have both platforms (Mac and PC). Thank you.

I had a Xvid file with AC3 audio. I have managed to seperate it to a M2V video and a AC3 audio (corrected with AC3fix) ready to multiplex it and author it before burning to DVD. The guides and posts have got me this far, but one guide said I could multiplex it in TMPGEnc. Can anyone tell me which type of mpeg do I need to set it to?
When done, I will be authoring with TMPGEnc DVD Author and burning with Nero. As a newbie to DVD (12 months on VCD`s) I need a little help.

  4. If your M2V file is 'DVD compliant' you don't need to muliplex the files back again. Tmpgenc author will do this for you when creating the VOB files

Great. I hadn`t noticed that. I`ve only used mp2 before and had no probs.
Everything went fine until I came to the make vobs part. It came back with " a required dll is missing, PSAPI.DLL."
I`ve searched for it and it appears to be connected with NT.
This is a problem as I`m running WinME.
I know this is to do with IDE comunication and drives.
Is there a fix or am I destined to only do PCM audio?
Your help so far has been most appreciated.
Dare I ask for still more?

    Thanks again.

  6. I too have winME and can't use the 'burning' function (same .dll missing). I think the program is only for full use on XP or win2k (NT).

However your VOB,s should be OK as I only get the message if I press the 'open DVD writing tool' button. The VOB's and folder structure should already have been complted. It seems that you need some other burning sofware

I must be getting tired. That`s what I did. I`ll go back to my original plan and vob it then burn with Nero.
2A.M here so I`m on my way to bed. I will post my success (hope, hope) tomorrow as possible help to others with similar challenges.
My deepest gratitude for all your help.
