Hi - i know this question has been asked and answered probably several thousand times, but I'm going to throw out my situation and look for some advice.
I have an Sony TRV-68 analog camcorder which I have used to shoot a bunch of video. I wanted to start editing and enhancing this video so last year I bought a Dazzle DVC80. I have never once been able to get this to work properly. It captures the video ok but never gets the audio. It's a piece of crap if you ask me.
So now I'm looking to step up to something better. I want to transfer the video I've got onto CD's (no DVD burner) and also transfer some VHS tapes. I would like to spend around $100 - maybe up to $150 if it's worth it. Not sure if you need this but I am running Windows XP.
Thanks for any and all the advice!
Jeff

ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon cards. They wil do what you want to do now, and will be ready to rock and roll when you upgrade to DVD(and you know you will eventualy once you get into the grove of it).
The other option that seems to be very popular with the folks here is the Canopus external capture device.
