sorry if im off topic but theres no where else to post this
is there any way i can encode an svcd directly from a dvd and then burn it right to dvd-r ? instead of using another program to turn the svcd into a format readable on dvd again.. thanks

SVCD format is only valid on CD media, so the answer to your question is no. But why would you want to do this?
You could use CVD resolution instead of SVCD as it is DVD compliant, keep the audio at 48khz too.
