I have just purchased a pioneer 105 and it won't allow to write to CD-RW. I've tried with the OEM software (Veritas DLA) and have just tried with Roxio version 6. The same problem still arises. The message that I get is that the CD-RW is read only.
I would be grateful for any advice that is offered to fix this.

I have a Pioneer 104 and it burns CD-RW ok, maybe is the brand of CDs, have you tried another one?.

I've tried AKAI, Verbatim and TDK.
Would running Win 2000 cause a non-compatability?
I might format my HD and try again.
Thanks for your reply -
Running Windows 2000 should not have any bearing in the inability to burn CD-RW; before doing something as drastic as reformatting the hard disk, I would test the burner in another system. In fact I would strongly recommend it, since your problem seems to me more related to a hardware issue in the burner. If the problem presents itself in the other system, try updating the firmware, if that doesn’t fix it, then you are pretty sure the burner is defective.

Thansk for the advice. I'll install the 105 onto my brothers system and see if it still plays up.
Apart from not burning to CD-RW the rest of the functiond work like a charm.
