You can make the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, drop the shrunk files in the video folder and burn. Just make sure that you are using the correct format to burn with. I use Nero and just select the DVD-Video option, then drop the files into the predefined VIDEO_TS and burn away. Your procedure will vary depending on the burning software you are using.

IT SAYS IFO AND BUP FILES ARE MISSING I AM USING NERO 6.0. I USED DVD SHRINK TO GET THE VIDEO TS FOLDER. NEED MORE HELP. I AM TRYING TO AVOID ANOTHER STEP TO RECORD TO DVDR. I HAVE BEEN USING IC7 BUT IT TAKES TO LONG AND I HEARD YOU CAN JUST BURN THE VIDEO_TS FOLDER. NEED HELP BECAUSE I AM NOT VERY PATIENT IN WAITING 2 HOURS TO CONVERT TO IMAGE. THANX A WHOLE LOT IF YOU CAN HELP
-
OK I WILL TRY. DOES THIS CREAT ANOTHER IFO AND BUP AND DOES THIS HAVE TO BE ADDED TO THE VIDEO FOLDER. AND HOW LONG DOES THIS TAKES

vesterlee, if you are using DVD Shrink to create your backups, the necessary files should have been generated.
You should not receive an error message from Nero, unless you're not following the correct burning procedure.
Check the guides on the following page, they might be of help:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php
They were made with Nero 5, but the principle is the same.
P.S: could you try and avoid typing in capital letters?
In the "message board" world, it means you're shouting. -
sorry about the caps. ok i found the guide and will try both and see which 1 works. and i will reply back with what works thnx guys pretty fast replies thnx

"thnx guys pretty fast replies thnx"
You're welcome. -
vesterlee,
You use DVD shrink and get a folder full of vob, ifo,and bup, files. You then open Nero and use the wizard to create a Video DVD. You navigate to the file made by DVD shrink and drag all those vob, ifo, and bup file into the video_ts file in nero. The hit the little red burn button.
Where are you running into problems? -
it keep saying that ifo and bup files not present but video might record but may not be playable any other suggestions. or do i ignore the warning to record or may not be playable

IFOEDIT guides
Create new IFO & BUP:http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/createifo.html
VTS sectors:http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/calcsec.html#automatic
When you're done you should have a min. of 5 files :
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_01_0.IFO
VIDEO_01_0.BUP
VIDEO_01_X.VOB
X=numerous -
it keep saying that ifo and bup files not present it keep saying that ifo and bup files not present
When you hit the Back Up button in DVD shrink it creates a folder and puts the ifo, bup, and vob files in it. When DVD shrink finishes it puts up a message saying it has finished and reminding you where the folder is. Go to this folder and tell us what is in it. If there is nothing then DVD shrink isn't working for some reason. IF the files are there then Nero isn't working for some reason. -
vesterlee, could you write down and post the name of all the files?
-
ok what i have done is tried to do this in udf /iso mode and see how it works . it seems to be recording just fine but not sure if it will work yet. when i use ifoedit i think you have to exit alll the way out and re-open ifoedit and then get vts sectors. plus there are too many to write down and try to give you visual. if this dont work i will be back. thnx guys for your patients
-
vesterlee,
You're doing something wrong that is probably very basic. We all do it sometimes. But if you would just answer our questions we really could help.
It's also just polite because we get curious about what is going on too.
Again, after you use DVD shrink and go to the folder it creates what files are in there?
There is no reason you should be having trouble getting DVD shrink to work with Nero in DVD video mode.
(You might also be getting confused by too much advice. You only need DVD shrink and Nero as you mentioned in your first post. Ifo edit is not needed at all. Not that it couldn't be done with ifo edit but that is a whole nother method and there is no need.) -
ok this is whats going on, when i load the nero with the file I made from dvd shrink it says ifo and bup file missing but it also says i can proceeed but video might not be playable. can you help me with this
-
it says video_ts. bup and video_ts.ifo is not present
dvd video file compliance test failed.
i may proceed but video might not be playable -
No, don't tell me what Nero says. Go to the actual folder. You are running DVD shrink right? It tells you what folder it has created and where it is.
Do you really not understand the above?
Don't go to the folder with nero. Go to the folder on your computer. -
ok what do you want to know from the folder. i record to my desktop all my file r on my desktop. what do i need to be telling you for as the file
-
i am really getting frustrated now i want to go ahead and burn and see what happens but these dvdr cost to much, really need help here guys. i=I got 1 dvd to burn but dont know what I did. when I went to burn it again it came up with the same old message
-
I don't understand how you could ask what I want to know when I said it in my last three posts. What files are in the folder that DVD shrink made?
-
Ok, so they ARE there. Now open nero and get into Video DVD mode. Use the explorer window on the right side to find the file you just told me about. Those ifo, bup, and vob files will be visible. Highlight all of them (highlight one and hit Control and A at the same time). Now drag them over to the video_ts folder that Nero created over on the left. You will now see all of them in the video_ts folder and there will be a blue line at the bottom of the screen telling you how big your compilation is.
Now Burn.
Follow those steps and if it doesn't work tell me where in the process you had trouble.
Also don't burn DVDr's when testing. You should always burn DVDRW's untill you really know that you're doing it right. -
vesterlee:
Sorry to ask the obvious but when you opened Nero to create the Video DVD did you remember to move the files from the browser window to the video_ts directory created by Nero?
That's one way that Nero would say that they are not found.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
