  1. Hi all,

I have a 720MB Xvid which I am tryin to convert using one of the DVD templates. When I finish the wizard, it gets to the Size part and goes well over 4.1Gigs. To reduce the bit rate and size one usually changes the value of either what you want the total meg to be or adjust the bit rate but in this case they come up in red and when I try to change the settings, it doesnt let me. ANy ideas.

I am new to all this but before I formatted my drive I didnt have any issues like the size of the file in red color which couldnt be altered. I could increase the size of the file but not reduce it in this instance. Before I formatted the drive, I could set the size to 4070MB and it would encode the file just fine. Now when I try, it doesnt let me.

I hope I am making sense.

    Thanks a lot!

  2. Yeh i've had this problem, i'm also a newbie. What i found solved it was to go back to the first page of the wizard and change the audio to cbr MPEG LAYER-1 Layer II Audio (mp2) and it allowed me to alter the size. Not sure if this is the best way or technicaly sound, but it works for me

There is a check box that says AUTO. Uncheck if you can.
otherwise remember what bitrate you want and do
    it without the wizard.
