You are not the one making outrageous statements.![]()
The only device that can exhibit "negative dynamic resistance"
that I can remember is the tunnel diode. Other circuits that do that
have to be deliberately contrived and are all active circuts.

Solar,
Don't take offense. They're not slamming you.
I'm the one making outrageous statements.
Those crazy CPUs are overheating because all of them "gates" and transistors keep opening and closing, and charging themselves up when the CPU is idling, not because any electricity is flowing through those super thin aluminum traces.
Ohm's law doesn't apply to esoterica like computer electronics.
Ah, well,
George
BTW, I am not an electronic engineer, nor even an electrician. Just a simple mechanic. -
It's times like these that I realize ignorance is bliss!
I know only 5 things about power/electricity:
1. If the power's out, I call TXU.
2. If the device doesn't work when I plug it in, I take it back.
3. If I start a fire, I have an extinguisher.
4. If the breakers trip, I flip them back on.
5. If it starts to smell funny, I unplug it for a while and hope it works later.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
