I usually convert video files to .mpg using TMPGEnc and it ALWAYS worked great.
Now, on this particular .avi file, when I convert to .mpg, no matter if it's to VCD or SVCD, the audio sounds strange (lost bass and added a high end of treble that is basically a pain in the ass).
Any clues, anyone? Thanx!

It might be worth using Gspot or Virtualdub to find out which audio codec the AVI uses...
