mp2enc on osx

I am having problems using mp2enc on osx, and was wondering if you have seen this sort of behavior befor...

My AIFF files are being refused.

./mp2enc -b 224 -r 48000 -o /Users/alex/Desktop/testfolder/audio.mp2 < /Users/alex/Desktop/testfolder/living_Audio.aiff
**ERROR: Input not a WAV file - starts not with "RIFF"
**ERROR: failure reading WAV file

The files where created using Apples new Compressor application, and play fine in any app that plays AIFF.

I was even able to multiplex this audio with my m2v video (my final goal )on a PC using TMPGEnc

Any how, thanks for any help you can offer...

This behavior is normal, as mp2enc need WAV files as input, and not AIFF files.
