  1. Hi, using maestro for the first time to put my amateur movie onto dvd. The files i used were .m2v video and wav sound, both created from avis by premiere, and bitmaps from paint, for the menus. Used the doom9.net tutorial and followed the steps they suggested (with the exception of adding chaters, which i haven't done). I've previewed it and it works as intended.

i then try and compile so i can make a disc image.

I then get the following text in the box to the bottom left.
    (in full)

    'Starting DVD Build FATW 04...
    Compiler Initializing...
    Creating DVD directories in C:\THE DVD\maestro components\
    Cleaning directory.
    .
    Compiling VMG information...
    Created 9 PGCs in VTSM.
    Created 13 PGCs in VMG.
    4 menu[s] will be created...
    Compiling menu PGCs.
    Compiling menu #1 [main menu]...
    Encoding...
    Parsing...
    SP-Encoding...
    Muxing...
    Done.
    Compiling menu #2 [audio select]...
    Encoding...
    Parsing...

    Compiler error: Media detection error
    Build cancelled.'

A second later and an error message bx pops up 'Media Detection Error'.

    and it stops.

Does anyone know what i am doing/have done wrong, and how to rectify the fault. Thanks.

  2. Did you import all of your assets into the asset bin, and then use them from there? Or did you drag them directly into your project?

If the answer to #1 is no, then do that an maestro will tell you which asset it does not like.

What type of processor do you have?
I mean it in the nicest way.

ImaWeTodd is right -- one of your media for your menu # 2 is not correct (size or sample rate) ...

drag all your menu parts into the asset bin ... you will see which one is at fault ..

  4. cheers guys. I had actually been importing all media to the asset bin then using them from there. Because the problem was with the audio menu i tried messing around with that. In the end i got around the problem by instructing the buttons that change the audio track to also cause the movie clip to play (does that make sense, i.e. before all the button did was set audio to ch3, for example, now it sets it to ch3 and plays the clip). It is possible that this is what i was suppossed to do all along.

    Thanks for your help.
