Hey,
I'm making a dvd-svcd with a television show on it. The only problem is that it's japanese and with a few episode the subtitles fall under the screen. I have a widescreen tv, but i tried to set it to 4:3 and it's the same problem. The solution is simple. With dvd2svcd using CCE, choose 16:9, but encoded as 4:3 so black borders with be put under it. I did this with all the eps i had to reencode and it workes just fine. Only one episode gave errors, so i can't encode the last one. You can with TMPGenc but that program won't put borders on the sides. Is there any other way i can encode the avi so borders will be added?

before you start encoding with dvd2svcd click on the frameserver tab and check `edit as a part of encoding`,start encoding and when the dialogue box pops up after the audio is finished transcoding edit the text as such,
SimpleResize(480,284)
AddBorders(0,98,0,98) add this part in if its being encoded with no borders and adjust the size of borders you want as long as the pair of borders plus the size = 480 eg 284+98+98=480,test it with a minute clip the get the results without having to encode the whole avi. -
AddBorders(0,98,0,98),the icon was placed there unintentionally cause of a space and bracket.

these smiley face icons are annoying when you are trying to show figures and they get replaced by them.
