As the title says really.

I have been running a thread whereby I have asked whether people have had problems with running Windvd and XP when playing DVD.

Now I am relatively new to DVD stuff on the PC. It just seems extremely complicated what with ripping, copying, shrinking, authoring and burning.

Now my problem is as follows;

After much aggro I have the following installed on my PC

1) WMP 9
2) WinDVD 4
3) DVDShrink
4) Copy to DVD

Now when I play original DVD the disc splins and then comes up with a request to install a player from the DVD such as Interactual or something like that. I decline to install and then what I do is open WinDVD and it plays automatically fine.

When I try to play a copied DVD the PC crashes to BSOD and I have to reboot. The DVD were copied using software 3 and 4 above.

Eventually what I did was restore my PC back a few days.

However I am loathe to try copied DVD in case I get teh BSOD and it won't play DVD again

So the question is what am I doing wrong and can anyone give me any pointers on what to llok for that maybe causing my problem.

Any Tips

Kwack

PS: I have a copy of POwerdvd 4 on its way - can this co-exist alongside Windvd or do I have to uninstall first
