I have a film scanner and some of my negatives are on professional film. When I scan them they turn out orange. I'm looking for a photo site like dvdrhelp if there is one to help me solve this problem. The photo's are going to be on a DVD along with a video.
Thanks,
Jim

Hello Jim,
I can't solve your problem, but I have a question.
You said that you would burn photo's and video's on a same dvd.
I am looking for such a program, a program which is capable to have photo's as well as video on the same dvd, with effects and different kinds of music.
Can you maybe help me, which software is suitable for this kind of stuff?
Thanks,
Theo -
I may or may not be able to help you. When you scan them, are they still a negative image and orange, or is it orange after you change it to be a postive image? Also what kind of scanner, and what kind of film. The film type will be imprinted on the edge of the film. Like Fuji RDP-XX or Ectachrome XX or something like that. Please note Ectachrome is a positive film used only for example. Each type of color negative film has a color to the base plastic. Most are a kind of orange-ish color, and the color is normally about the same for similar manufacturers. But Fuji is slightly different from Kodak, is different from Ilford, etc. Most of the good film scanners will take a portin of the frame and sample it to arrive at the proper correction. But most flatbeds with a transparency adaptor will not.

Berk - there are several programs that can do this. It's all about how you author the disc. I personally use Maestro, but I know that Encore and Ulead can do this as well. I haven't really played with DVD lab much (since it only allows 1 VTS and no PGC it might be tricky).
Basically each picture/still is just another MPEG2 still image (normally 704x480) and each video is a motion MPEG2 video. The authoring program sets the next/previous, chapter, skip, etc.
I actually saw this learn japanese DVD that was pretty much all menus. You could click to display english or japanese subtitles, choose english or japense audio, or click to go to different lessons. It's all in the authoring. -
You can try this site http://www.retouchpro.com/ , is the best for photo restoration.

Vejita-sama,
Were can i find some tutorials about the use of maestro and what it can do? -
To answer The Village Idiot's request, here goes.
PrimeFilm 1800u scanner with CyberView-X v1.01.
Cyberview has the following negative film options:
Agfa 100,200,400
Fuji 100,200,400,800
Eastman Kodak 100,200,400,800, Kodak Portra 160nl
Konica 100,200,400
The film I'm scanning is Kodak Supra 100 and Kodak Gold 100-6 using the Eastman Kodak 100 setting.
I have done some testing with Photoshite 5 and maybe able to make that get rid of the orange tint.
Which brings me back to the original question is there a site like dvdrhelp for scanning films?
Thanks,
Jim -
Well, it's not your scanner. That scanner is pretty good. And your film is all color negative. Negative films have an orange base, but when you invert it back to positive, that would of course be blue-ish.
As far as a site like this, I haven't found one. If you do find one, let me know.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
