    Which format gives you the best quality on a DVD when it is converted?

    As far as the consumer (prosumer) market, which is what this site obviously is geared towards, it would have to be DV. Is that what you're asking? Otherwise, most commercial DVDs are encoded from high definition digital transfers of films, which I would think is the best format to convert from.
