Hi,
I m pretty new to ripping & burning. I have been using dvd decryptor & dvd x copy with no probs.
I would like to use dvd shrink as it is a very easy program to use for converting dvdr-9 to dvdr-5. Problem is that I cannot get a good quality backup. Last night I backed up ghost ship and used only level 2 compression and still the quality sucked. The pcture has many boxes on it. I also tried using dvd shrink version 3 beta 5 with deep analysis and still the quality sucks. My system has the following specs:
Intel pentium 600 mhz
128 mb ram
os win 98
Pioneer 105
Can someone pls help.

what are the specs of the file. Me personally, I have backed up stuff at level 9 compression and was VERY happy with the result (2.3 and 3.x beta). This is all viewed on my 36 in Tv that is about 4 months old now. Course, quality is in the eye of the beholder.
Are you trying to watch it on a 52" screen? Whats the size of the file in dvdshrink. You may want to put it on 2 dvd's and not reduce the quality OR go back to your other methods. -
If I remember correctly Ghost Ship's Main movie does not require any compression at all . So , just compress all the extras to still pictures and backup . Perfect copy for the main movie .
